Job Description

A nationally recognized litigation firm is seeking Associate Attorneys with 2+ years of defense litigation experience to join its growing California practice. Opportunities are available within General Liability and Toxic Tort Litigation.

This established firm handles complex civil litigation matters on a regional and national scale and is known for its collaborative, team-oriented approach to client service. The practice represents a diverse range of clients in high-exposure and sophisticated litigation matters, offering attorneys significant responsibility and opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an active litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
  • Handle matters involving local and national clients throughout California.
  • Take and defend depositions, including plaintiff and expert witness depositions.
  • Prepare witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, and other litigation-related filings.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare written analyses.
  • Assist with trial preparation and trial support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely billing and case records.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex litigation matters while independently managing assigned cases.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 2 years of defense litigation experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
    • General Liability
    • Product Liability
    • Toxic Tort
    • Environmental Litigation
    • Complex Civil Litigation
  • Demonstrated experience with motion practice and discovery.
  • Experience taking the lead in depositions, including plaintiff and expert depositions.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment.
